Wrentham Day 2026: What to Know Before Saturday's 40th Annual Celebration

Wrentham Day 2026: What to Know Before Saturday's 40th Annual Celebration
If you're in Wrentham this weekend, mark your calendar — the 40th Annual Wrentham Day takes over the Town Common this Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It's one of my favorite days on the town calendar, and this year it's bigger than ever.
What's Happening
Wrentham Day has always centered on the Town Common, but this year the celebration expands its footprint. Recreation Director Jeff Plympton confirmed that activities are spreading to Sweatt Park as well, giving the event more room to grow. Check-in for vendors and participants starts at 7:00 AM at the gazebo.
What's New This Year
For the first time, a portion of South Street (Route 1A) will close to traffic for the day — from its intersection with Route 140 down to The Looking Glass Café at Kendrick Street. If you live nearby or typically drive through that stretch on a Saturday, plan an alternate route or extra time to get around.
The Wrentham Wroad Wrace
Kicking things off is the Wrentham Wroad Wrace, a USA Track & Field-sanctioned 5K that's been a town tradition since 1982. The race starts at 9:00 AM on the Common, with race-day check-in beginning at 7:30 AM. After you cross the finish line, refreshments are provided courtesy of Eagle Brook Saloon, and an awards ceremony follows for the top finishers. Registration is available online through the town's recreation site for anyone who wants to join.
Why It's Worth Going
Days like this are exactly why I love working in this town. Wrentham has that rare combination of small-town character and genuine community turnout — the kind of thing that's hard to describe to someone who hasn't lived here, but instantly obvious to anyone who has. Whether you're a longtime resident or just started house-hunting in the area, Wrentham Day is a great, low-pressure way to get a feel for the community before you commit to a street.
If you're already a client, past client, or just someone I've crossed paths with in town, I'll likely be around — feel free to say hello.
